The Rococo: a historic and memorable venue
Nestled in the heart of downtown Lincoln, the Rococo is a popular, classic and unique venue for concerts, parties, weddings, movies, fashion shows and many other memorable events. It is a theatre converted to an event venue, but can always use the stage when necessary, making it very versatile. Occupying most of the first floor of the historic Stuart Building, The Rococo Theatre was restored to its 1929 splendor after an unfortunate remodeling in the 1970s. It is now Lincoln’s high-end concert venue and provides an intimate setting for the region’s best entertainment, as well as the hottest national touring acts to perform live on stage. It’s also a perfect venue to host special events.
From corporate presentations, special functions or holiday parties, to fundraisers and even beautiful weddings, the Rococo Theatre’s unique style adds elegance to any event. The Rococo’s state-of-the-art audio/visual equipment and full-size movie screen are also available to enhance video presentations or slideshows. In addition, The Rococo Theatre has a gracious and knowledgeable service staff. No detail, however small, is overlooked. Those attending a Rococo event can relax and enjoy a once in-a-lifetime celebration with family, co-workers, and friends.
In the past years, the Rococo Theatre has had the pleasure of accommodating top artists and performers including: Ben Folds, Dwight Yoakam, Henry Rollins, Emmylou Harris, Steve Earle, Old Crow Medicine Show, Marc Maron, David Cross, Hannibal Buress, Anthony Jeselnik, Lewis Black, Kathy Griffin, Ralphie May, Ron White, Drew Carey, Margaret Cho, Daniel Tosh, Adam Carolla, Tracy Morgan, Morrissey, Sara Evans, Lonestar, Rascall Flats, Jason Miraz, Indigo Girls, Lyle Lovett, Joan Baez, Gillian Welch, Neko Case, G. Love, Jeff Tweedy, Ray Lamontagne, Iron & Wine and many more! And when Dave Chappelle’s first night sold out in minutes, three more (sold-out) nights were added. This list continues with a return performance by Ben Folds.
The Rococo Theatre boasts a breathtaking architectural interior in the Italian Romanesque style. The stone and terra cotta walls mimic an old Italian palazzo. There are Vegas style booths and tables plus two larger-than-life chandeliers that hang from the Rococo’s soaring ceilings.
The Rococo Theatre also creates a magical backdrop for weddings. Imagine the perfectly lit bride and groom center stage as family and friends watch with comfort. Ceremonies performed at the Rococo Theatre are enchanting, magical, and guests appreciate the convenience of having the follow-up reception in the same beautiful venue.
