The Lied Center for Performing Arts has been a national leader in arts presenting and community involvement since it opened in 1990. Known as “Nebraska’s performing arts center,” the Lied brings the world’s greatest artists to the Midwest, including Yo-Yo Ma, Harry Connick Jr., Wynton Marsalis, Misty Copeland, Isaac Stern, the Chicago Symphony, Cleveland Orchestra, STREB, Danny Elfman, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, American Ballet Theatre, Yuja Wang, Bernadette Peters, and many more of the top artistic talents touring the world.

With a rapidly growing audience, Broadway shows are making a bigger impact at the Lied Center and in Lincoln than ever before. During the 2023-2024 season, a record-breaking 94,000 people experienced a Broadway show at the Lied Center! It is because of all that huge growth that the 2024-2025 Glenn Korff Broadway series is the biggest in Lied Center history, both in terms of impact and number of performances. At the center of it all is the historic 16 performance run of the Broadway hit Moulin Rouge! the Musical in February of 2025. The engagement marks only the third time in the Lied Center’s 35-year history that a show will play two full weeks of performances. The other two were record-breaking runs of The Phantom of the Opera in 2018 and Hamilton in 2023, each drawing upwards of 30,000 people. The Broadway dazzle continues in the spring with the ghost-with-the-most Beetlejuice and the beloved classic Annie.

2025 is a signature year for classical music at the Lied with the return of the legendary Itzhak Perlman, the Lied premiere of the Czech National Orchestra, and the first performance of Academy of St Martin in the Fields at the Lied in nearly 20 years.

That’s just scratching the surface of the inspiration and entertainment to be found at the Lied this season! From thrilling dance with the Syncopated Ladies (who recently toured with Beyonce!) and acclaimed modern dance ensemble Parsons Dance to virtuosic (and hilarious!) to performances from the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain and Mnozil Brass, from foodie flavor with Alton Brown Live: Last Bite to a St. Patrick’s Day celebration with Murphy’s Celtic Legacy, from family fun with 123 Andres and Kerfuffle’s The Conductors to the ever-popular Arrival From Sweeden: The Music of ABBA, there really is something for everyone!

Lied Center Executive Director Bill Stephan says, “When the Lied Center was founded 35 years ago, the vision was to bring the very best in performing arts to the people of Nebraska. Each new season, we honor that vision by bringing a lineup of top artists and events from all over the world to Nebraska’s Performing Arts Center. I hope you’ll find many things to be excited about in the historic 2024-2025 35th Anniversary Season!”
